Design Better. Align Deeper. Lead with Purpose.
Insights from the heart of mission-aligned consulting.
Hi, I’m Jenn Babcock the founder of MADE Consulting and creator of the MADE Method: Mission-Aligned Design Excellence. I help organizations design intentional programs, systems, and strategies that are rooted in purpose and built for real-world impact. With a background in education, community engagement, and values-driven leadership, I launched this blog to share honest lessons, practical frameworks, and thought-provoking ideas at the intersection of equity, sustainability, and innovation. Whether you’re here to grow your impact or spark new thinking, I’m glad you found your way here.
Let’s build better, together.
- The Depth of Divergence: How language, experience, and AI shape creativity and understandingWe often use the phrase “stuck in the hamster wheel” to describe life — going in circles, working hard, and not feeling like we’re moving forward. But the more I… Read more: The Depth of Divergence: How language, experience, and AI shape creativity and understanding
- Making Sense of the World, One Noticing at a TimeThere’s something I’ve been noticing lately. Most people ask for answers. But the truth is, the world rarely gives us clean answers. Instead, it gives us signals. And the more… Read more: Making Sense of the World, One Noticing at a Time
- I’ll Be Presenting at the 2026 Creativity Expert Exchange (CEE)I’ll be presenting a session next week at the Creativity Expert Exchange (CEE) hosted by the Center for Applied Imagination at SUNY Buffalo State University. My session is titled: “Rebellion Against Perfection: Why Deferring Judgment Is a Creative Necessity.” One of the most powerful principles in creative problem solving is also one of the hardest to practice: deferring judgment. In many environments, ideas are evaluated almost immediately. While that instinct makes sense, it can unintentionally shut down exploration and prevent teams from discovering stronger possibilities. In this session, I’ll explore: • Why perfectionism often blocks creative thinking • How early evaluation limits innovation • What it actually looks like to defer judgment in practice • Simple ways individuals and teams can create space for better ideas I’m looking forward to sharing this conversation and learning alongside such a thoughtful creativity community. If you’re attending CEE this year, I’d love to connect. More details about the conference and sessions can be found here: http://www.creativityexpertexchange.com
- Using MADE at Home: A Sustainability ReflectionWhat my messy kitchen taught me about alignment: small misalignments in our spaces quietly drain our energy. This month, I reflected on what feels off, what feels aligned, and how small shifts can create a home that supports creativity, focus, and calm. A cozy space, thoughtful systems, and gentle reflection can make all the difference.
- My 2026 Personal Mission: Living Sustainably (Letting a Framework Guide Me)I used to set New Year’s resolutions. Like many people, I’d start the year motivated and optimistic, only to lose momentum by the end of January and abandon them altogether… Read more: My 2026 Personal Mission: Living Sustainably (Letting a Framework Guide Me)
- Big Impact: What Scalp Massages Teach Us About Designing for HumansAs a busy working mom, I’m always looking for ways to make things feel simpler and smoother: for me, my family, and the people I work with. Human-Centered Design is really about that: noticing what helps people feel seen, supported, and able to engage fully. In my latest blog, I share a small but powerful metaphor that shifted how I think about designing experiences and programs. If you’re interested in subtle ways to create bigger impact, it might be worth a read.
